How to Use the NGS
The New Generation Star Diagnostic Tester


First you will need a NGS tester from LV Sales Inc.

All the software is loaded onto the removable software cartridge. This allows for easy updating.

Let's program a PATS key into the car's PATS module for the customer of this new Ford Mustang.

The standard in the United States and other countries is the "OBDII" cable. "OBDII" stands for On-Board Diagnostic (version 2) cable. All cars & trucks in the U.S. must have this type of interface by federal law.

The OBDII interface on Ford products is found on the driver's side of the vehicle. The interface for this Mustang is to the right of the steering column behind the center console. No disassembly is ever required. Just plug the cable in and the NGS unit will come to life. It draws its power from the cars computer.

Once we are finished making the mechanical key and transfer the cuts to a new PATS key. We will then insert it into the ignition switch and turn the switch to the "Run" position.

LV Sales Inc works closely with National Auto Lock Service who writes it's own programming booklet just for the NGS. Every time a new version of the software is released they update the programming booklet to match the new software. We are the only companies to do this. Just look up the vehicle in the 'table of contents' and they tell you which section to go to. Also they tell you which transponder keyblank you will need!

When the machine is powered up the above screen will appear as the NGS does a basic systems test. This screen also tells you the software service version.

For this Mustang model we are working on we will select 'Service Bay Functions' by turning the selector wheel on the NGS and press the Trigger button.

This model uses the "Hybrid Electronic Cluster" to store the PATS keys. Thanks to our very own programming manual it's a snap. Use the selector wheel to select it and press the trigger button.

The PATS programming for this Mustang is contained in the Security Access section for the Hybrid Electronic Cluster. Select it and press trigger.

Select the '99-00 Mustang' and press trigger.

The NGS will initiate communications with the cars systems and lock you out for 10 minutes. This is an anti-theft feature built into the software.

If you only want to just add a single PATS key, select the 'Ignition Key Code Program' and press the trigger button to select it.

After a few seconds the key will be programmed and this screen will apear.

If you need to erase all the previously programmed keys you may select 'Ignition Key Code Erase'. This will require you to program in 2 new keys. You must have them ready.

After a few seconds this screen will appear and you cna now program in the 2 new keys. It is as simple as this with our very own programming manual and free 7 day a week tech support.
